準備よし

先日、PRIME B350 Plus のUEFIを4801に更新した。

その前にはDDR4-3200のモジュール(8GBx4)を購入して取り付けた。

これで“Matisse”導入の準備よし。


後はいつ手に入れるか、だ。


ちなみにメモリモジュールは「G.Skill F4-3200C16-8GSX (8GB Single Lank)」を4枚使っている。

動作周波数とアクセスタイミングはそれぞれ、DDR4-3200(1.25V)、16-18-18-38-52 1T で使用。



このモジュールはSK-Hynixのダイが使われているそうだが、SK-HynixのDDR4はかつてRyzenとあまり相性が良くなかったと記憶している。それが設定電圧を1.35Vから1.25Vまで落してもDDR4-3200で動作するのだから、時代は変わったものだ。


一方“Matisse”はメモリインターフェイスの改良により、JEDEC準拠のDDR4-3200モジュールに正式対応するという。

となれば、もしかするとこのモジュールで1.2V駆動も可能かもしれないと期待してしまう。


それにしてもRyzen初登場直後はメモリの相性問題が多く出て一部で混乱が起きるほどだったが、当時のCPUとマザーボードそのままでこのような結果を出せるとは夢にも思わなかった。

あれから二年余り経つが、よくもここまで改良が進んだものだ。

北森瓦版での情報なのですがRyzen 3000 シリーズはDDR4-3200には対応しているのですが、可能なのは1chにつき1DIMMであり。2DIMMを積むとスピードが落ちるそうです。

過去のRyzenと同様の制限で、それがDDR4-3200に引き上げられたという所でしょうか。

いずれにせよ、現在私の環境では初代Ryzen 1600XとB350チップセットの環境でDDR4-3200の4枚刺しが問題なく動作していますので、そういう事なのでしょう。
